What Is Mateen?
Mateen is a Jordanian-based non-profit organization and was established in 2016. Through its programs, Mateen focuses on children’s education, youth development, and women empowerment by providing access to equal and empowering opportunities.
ABOUT US
Mateen is a non-profit organization based in Jordan that was established in October 2016. It specializes in helping marginalized children. Guided by both the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Mateen works on:
- Supporting through sustainable interventions efforts to reduce educational inequalities by enabling the most marginalized school children to access quality education.
- Providing psychosocial interventions; to provide a stable, loving, and safe environment for the children.
- Supporting efforts to reduce the economic vulnerability of families to enable them to provide the basic needs of children. Developing appropriate strategies and programs to prevent and respond to child abuse, exploitation, violence, and family disintegration.
- Communicating and advocating for children’s basic legal rights which include the right to civil registration to improve their access to public services and economic opportunities. Supporting efforts to raise awareness on the rights of these marginalized children.

Our Programs
UCan project is literacy educational project; done in collaboration with the SOS foundation.
Mateen runs initiatives to provide tented settlements of Syrian refugees with remedial education and world class education.
The first project of its kind in the Middle East includes training young talents from Jordan to learn the art of writing comedic sketches
Makani Centers support adolescents and youth to achieve their full development through an integrated set of programs delivered at the same place.
